Foods > Snacks
There's a time of day inbetween meals when your blood-sugar starts to fall and you have cravings. It's important during this time to not "go crazy" and snack on the first thing you see. Chocolate that improves heart health?
There's been a swirl of media attention surrounding a new chocolate product from Mars Inc. called CocoaVia. The bars are made from a kind of dark chocolate high in flavanols, which is an antioxidant found in cocoa beans that is thought to have a blood-thinning effect similar to aspirin and may even lower blood pressure. CocoaVia bars are also enriched with vitamins and injected with cholesterol-lowering plant sterols from soy. But is it safe to say you can eat at will and have only positive benefits? Experts are wary, so if you choose to indulge, moderation is still your safest bet.
